Job Description

An employer in the Columbus, OH area is seeking a Project Coordinator for a top construction client in the Columbus, OH area. This individual will serve as a hybrid between a Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, and Junior Project Manager, depending on project size and complexity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete or heavy civil construction and enjoy balancing field involvement with project administration. This role plays a critical part in project execution by supporting financial tracking, material coordination, documentation management, and communication between jobsite personnel and leadership teams. The position offers excellent exposure to both office operations and field construction activities, making it a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow into project management within a leading construction environment.


Day-to-Day:
- Track materials from procurement through delivery using project tracking logs
- Process invoices and support project accounting activities
- Assist with monthly financial projections and job cost reviews
- Support estimating, preconstruction planning, and project setup
- Participate as a key member of project teams and provide updates to operations leadership
- Attend internal and client-facing project meetings
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and overall document control
- Split time between the office and active jobsites (30–60% field presence)
- Support multiple projects simultaneously when working from the office
- Act as a liaison between field operations, project leadership, vendors, and clients

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years managing project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and tracking logs
- 3+ years of experience tracking materials, maintaining project logs, and processing invoices
- Experience reading structural and civil drawings
- Knowledge of elevations and site/layout coordination

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with vertical construction
- Experience with retaining walls, piers, and columns
- Wastewater construction experience involving tanks, walls, lid structures, foundation walls, elevated decks, or vertical concrete work
- Experience with foundations, site development, and front-end construction activities
