Job Description:

A client is seeking a Civil Engineer III (CE III) with experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects to support complex municipal infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of projects from initial concept through construction and start-up, including preparing cost estimates and coordinating field activities. The engineer will direct junior staff and technical teams in the development and review of plans, specifications, and project deliverables. Additionally, this individual will manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure all client requirements and contractual commitments are met. The position requires regular collaboration with internal teams and attendance at client, council, and board meetings, including occasional after-hours engagements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards across all phases of water and wastewater projects.

Projects may include water and/or wastewater spaces, combined sewer overflow facilities, sanitary sewer stations, booster pump stations, transmission and/or distribution mains.

Day to Day:

This Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects while working under a Project Manager and alongside both junior and senior engineers. Responsibilities include assisting with project design, reviewing plans and specifications, and ensuring work meets quality and engineering standards. The role involves coordinating with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams to keep projects moving forward efficiently and resolve issues as they arise. The engineer will help manage project schedules, budgets, and scope while supporting successful project delivery from concept through construction. Additionally, this individual will participate in client meetings, project discussions, and occasional presentations to municipalities or governing boards, providing updates and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
4-5 years of experience with Municipal Water and / or Wastewater projects
Experience in the evaluation, planning, design, and construction of one of the following projects: Water & Wastewater projects, Pump Stations, Sewer, Stormwater and/or Lift Stations
Experience designing with AutoCAD and Civil3D

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 year
Experience with hydraulic modelin
