Job Description
One of our government customers are seeking an Avionics Engineer to sit onsite in Dayton OH. This engineer will support the sustainment and modernization of the F-22's Communications, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems, serving as a key technical contributor on avionics integration and upgrade efforts. They will work directly with the government customer and engineering leadership to evaluate new capabilities, assess airworthiness and platform compatibility, and support Mode 5 modernization initiatives. Daily responsibilities include reviewing technical requirements and documentation, analyzing the impact of avionics modifications on aircraft performance and stealth characteristics, troubleshooting integration challenges, and supporting system-level testing and certification activities. The individual will operate in a highly classified environment, collaborate with a small team of engineers, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers while remaining hands-on and deeply involved in the engineering work rather than managing personnel.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 10+ years of engineering experience within Avionics/Electrical/Mechanical
o 5+ years of direct technical engineering work
o Experience with CNI (Communications, Navigation & Identification) systems
- Experience supporting military aircraft platforms (fighter aircraft strongly preferred)
- Understanding of airworthiness standards, certification, and compatibility requirements
- Active TS
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- SCI
- F-22 experience
- Mode 5 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) modernization experience
- Secure Voice systems experience
- GPS integration experience
- Antenna systems experience
- Experience supporting avionics modernization efforts
