Job Description
A large concrete construction company is seeking a Shop Carpenter to support the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of concrete formwork systems in a controlled shop environment. This role focuses on building and modifying formwork using wood/plywood and power tools, ensuring accuracy, durability, and readiness for field use. The position works closely with foremen and project teams to meet production timelines and quality standards. Responsibilities include cutting, assembling, repairing, and staging formwork components while maintaining a strong focus on safety and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and assemble concrete formwork (wall, column, slab) in a shop setting
Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand and power tools
Repair, modify, and maintain existing formwork systems
Read basic shop drawings and follow build specs
Stage and organize materials for jobsite delivery
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area

Required Skills & Experience
5-10+ years of carpentry or formwork experience
Experience using hand and power tools
Ability to read tape measure and basic drawings
Comfortable with physical labor (lifting up to ~50 lbs)
Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Concrete formwork experience (wall, column, slab systems)
Previous shop or fabrication experience (vs. strictly field work)
Experience with layout, measurements, and material takeoffs
Forklift or material handling experience
Rigging or crane signaling exposure
OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
