Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a mid-level EDI Business / Integration Analyst to support customer integrations within a fast-paced logistics environment. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between external customers and internal development teams, translating business requirements into technical integration solutions.
This is not a coding-heavy role –instead, it focuses on understanding data flow, EDI transactions, and system integrations while owning the design and requirements process end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Requirements Gathering
• Partner directly with logistics customers (carriers, shippers, 3PL partners) to gather integration requirements
• Lead discussions to understand how customer systems interact with internal platforms
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements
EDI & Integration Design
• Define how data will flow between systems using EDI and/or APIs
• Identify and document relevant EDI transactions (e.g., 214, 990)
• Develop mapping specifications (field-to-field data mapping between systems)
• Create detailed documentation to support development and implementation
Collaboration with Development Teams
• Partner with internal and offshore/nearshore development teams
• Provide clear functional specifications and answer technical questions
• Support iterative development and adjust requirements as needed
Production Support & Troubleshooting
• Investigate and resolve data integration issues
• Troubleshoot failed transactions and mapping discrepancies
• Support ongoing system performance and data accuracy

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications:
• EDI Experience
o Hands-on experience working with EDI transactions such as: 214 (shipment status updates) and 990 (load acceptance/rejection)
• Integration Knowledge
o Understanding of how systems communicate via: EDI, APIs, XML / flat files
• Business Analysis / Requirements Gathering
o Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders
o Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Data Mapping Understanding
o Familiarity with mapping concepts (field-to-field data relationships across systems)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with tools such as: WebMethods, Extol, MQ, Application Integrator
• Exposure to:
o Logistics, transportation, or 3PL environments
o XML, IDoc, or similar integration formats
• Basic Unix or technical environment exposure
