Insight Global is seeking a Remote Clinical Data Manager / Engineer for a contract opportunity through the end of the year (with potential extensions) with our largest Medical Device client.
This individual will be joining the Biostatistics & Data Management Team assisting with the commercialization of a new product launch. Their responsibilities go beyond traditional clinical trial support—they help ensure that data collected during clinical validation translates into scalable, compliant, and actionable insights for market launch and post-market use.
To perform this role, candidates should have strong experience in clinical data engineering, with hands-on expertise in EDC (Medidata Rave) database build, data integration (ETL/ELT), and clinical data management processes across multiple systems
Clinical Data & RAVE Responsibilities:
• Support or perform Medidata RAVE study build/configuration activities including CRF design, edit checks, custom functions, derivations, dynamic search lists, role/user management, and integrations.
• Collaborate with Data Managers and Clinical teams to translate protocol requirements into EDC solutions.
• Support database lock activities, data review workflows, and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshoot RAVE build issues and data discrepancies.
• Participate in UAT, validation, and production deployments.
Data Engineering Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for clinical and operational data.
• Build integrations between EDC systems, CTMS, eTMF, safety databases, and analytics platforms.
• Extract and transform data from systems such as Medidata RAVE, CTMS, laboratory systems, device/interrogation systems, and external vendor sources.
• Develop automated workflows for data ingestion, validation, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and audit tracking processes.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3–4+ years of experience in Clinical Data Management within medical device or pharmaceutical studies
• programming with data processing languages - Python, R/SAS, and SQL
• experience in data transformation, analysis, and visualization (e.g., Tableau, dashboard development)
• developing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines and workflow automation solutions
• Medidata Rave EDC (or similar EDC systems) with database build and data extraction
• Experience with modern data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., Databricks, AWS, Azure)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in Medidata Rave database build, including completion of SDBE (Study Design and Build Essentials) training or equivalent Rave certification
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks
• Familiarity with cloud storage and data services (e.g., AWS S3)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and use of coding dictionaries (MedDRA, WHO Drug)
