Job Description

Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for an Automation Engineer that manages and improves secondary equipment and assembly processes, focusing on increasing uptime, capability, and reducing cycle time. Daily responsibilities include supporting new program launches, implementing error‑proofing systems, responding to downtime, and assisting with equipment builds, PM development, and quality investigations. The engineer trains department personnel, reviews new technologies, manages special projects, and supports maintenance, engineering, and lean initiatives. Some travel and occasional weekend work are required.

Compensation: 100k-115k

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Engineering Science/Technology or 5+ years of experience within a related field.
• Strong background in manufacturing, automation, controls, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in PLC programming & troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred) and HMI software programming (Factory Talk or Ignition preferred).
• Experience designing, building, & programming machines/robots.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred:
• Project Management experience.
• SQL and Python experience.
• Experience working with cobots.
• Familiarity with ultrasonic welding.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
