Job Description:
A Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for investigating and resolving customer quality issues. They receive concerns through tools, corporate portals, or emails, review parts on the production floor, and perform root cause analysis to determine why an issue occurred. This role uses tools like PFMEAs and control plans to ensure processes are stable and capable of producing quality automotive parts. The Quality Engineer also works directly with customers, communicates findings clearly, and ensures compliance with IATF quality standards to prevent repeat issues and protect product quality. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of automotive quality experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistent product quality and continuous improvement across operations.

Day to Day:
• Support daily quality improvement activities across production and manufacturing teams.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems and standards.
• Investigating and resolving customer quality issues
• Create, update, and manage PFMEAs (process failure mode and effects analysis), control plans, process flows, and capability studies.
• Coordinate APQP (advanced product quality planning) and PPAP (production part approval process) activities to support new launches and customer requirements.
Work with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate product quality, reduce scrap, and prevent defects

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR related field experience
3+ years of quality control, automotive experience preferred but not required
3+ years of experience with IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force) (quality audits, documentation, corrective actions, etc.)
Strong communication and leadership skills
