Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager (contract) to drive execution for API first backend services. This role focuses on defining, delivering, and improving backend APIs and platform capabilities used by internal product teams and external integration partners.
The ideal candidate has prior experience working on SaaS platforms with significant API surfaces, understands how backend services are consumed at scale, and can operate independently in a delivery oriented environment. This is a hands on role centered on execution, clarity, and reliability rather than people management or long term organizational strategy.
Scope of Responsibility
• Execute against an established roadmap for backend APIs and platform services supporting advertising systems.
• Define clear product requirements for APIs, including contracts, workflows, and non functional expectations.
• Support backend services that power ad campaign setup, activation, delivery, and reporting.
• Own backlog refinement and short term prioritization in partnership with engineering.
• Work on scalable, multi tenant SaaS platforms used by internal ad products and external partners.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and downstream teams to manage cross service dependencies.
• Support integrations with external ad platforms, agencies, and partners via APIs.
• Ensure APIs are reliable, well documented, and fit for high throughput ad use cases.
• Surface delivery risks, trade offs, and dependency issues early and clearly.
• Communicate progress and outcomes consistently to product and engineering leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of product management experience, including backend or API driven products.
• Prior experience working at an api focused role.
• Strong understanding of APIs, service oriented architectures, and distributed systems.
• Experience defining and delivering internal or external API products.
• Proven ability to write precise, actionable requirements for engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience owning or contributing to shared platforms or API ecosystems.
• Familiarity with API design concepts such as versioning, compatibility, and contract stability.
• Experience supporting external integrations or partner APIs.
• Experience working on system modernization, refactoring, or migrations.
• Comfort operating in time boxed, contract based engagements.
