Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Equipment Service & Repair Technician to support a global manufacturing client. This person will be responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of complex manufacturing and process equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical and electro-mechanical issues to the component level, working inside control panels and electrical cabinets, supporting motors, drives, hydraulics, and process equipment such as extrusion or injection molding systems, and executing scheduled PMs, calibrations, and testing. This person will document all work, findings, and parts usage in a CMMS, identify out-of-tolerance conditions, implement corrective and preventative actions, and support equipment upgrades or controls-related projects as needed to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Compensation:

$70,000 to $80,000 per year annual salary plus a quarterly & annual bonus incentive.

Required Skills & Experience

5-10+ years of experience in hands-on maintenance/repair in a high-paced manufacturing/industrial environment (or equivalent technical experience via military or trade school).

Strong electrical troubleshooting background in an industrial setting, including:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions
- Wiring/rewiring control panels and working inside electrical cabinets

Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment to the component level (not just swapping parts).

Experience performing and documenting preventative maintenance (PM) and repair work, including:
- Identifying out-of-tolerance equipment/gauges
- Testing & calibration work
- Using a CMMS/computerized maintenance tracking system (tablets/computers as a part of daily work)

Exposure to or comfort working with process equipment (extrusion, injection molding, hydraulic system, facilities support equipment)

Self-managed, reliable, and "do-er" mentality
- Strong attendance, stays on task, takes ownership of critical repairs
- Positive, solutions-focused, professional

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Controls/PLC exposure
- Understanding PLC basics + hardware installation/configuration
- Rockwell/Allen-Bradley familiarity is a big plus (common in this environment)
- Ladder Logic troubleshooting experience

HMI/SCADA experience (configuration, integration, troubleshooting), including systems like Ignition

Industrial trade credentials or advanced training (current or willing to pursue)
- Journeyman Electrician, Automation certs, controls training, PLC coursework
- Willingness to pursue additional education/certifications

Facilities trade breadth: any combination of hydraulics, HVAC/chillers, boilers, refrigeration (helpful in a plan environment with chillers)

Experience writing/standardizing:
- Work instructions, training materials, documentation improvements

Background in hygienic/food manufacturing environments
