Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a mid-level Data Engineer to support a Chemical Manufacturing customer of ours. This position will be a 6-month contract-to-potential-hire and will require hybrid onsite 3x/week (4x/week during onboarding) at their Sharonville, Ohio office location.
This individual will join the company’s Data Engineering team, a newly formed team and practice reporting directly to the Director of Data & AI. This role will play a critical part in stabilizing and enhancing an inherited data platform from current vendor while also contributing to new development as the team’s roadmap evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of an existing data engineering solution inherited from an incumbent vendor, including debugging, reverse engineering logic, and creating clear technical documentation
• Serve as a liaison between the incumbent vendor and internal enterprise stakeholders, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and continuity
• Maintain and support existing vendor-built tools and pipelines (~50% of role)
• Design and develop new data engineering solutions and enhancements (~50% of role)
• Work extensively within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Apply strong logical reasoning to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and improve reliability
• Embrace an AI-driven mindset, leveraging modern tools and concepts to improve efficiency and development practices
