Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a top healthcare technology client. This individual will play a key role in executing the data engineering strategy by building scalable, reliable data pipelines and reusable software components. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on senior engineer who enjoys influencing technical direction through architecture discussions, code reviews, and modern engineering practices. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge Azure and big data technologies while directly supporting critical healthcare data initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in data or software engineering
• 5+ years of hands‑on coding experience with Microsoft SQL
• 3+ years working with big data technologies (Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, Azure)
• Strong experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Dataflows, Azure Functions, Service Bus)
• Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines
• Experience developing and supporting API integrations
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (testing automation, code reviews, DevOps, telemetry)
• Experience working with Delta tables, Parquet files, and ADLS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working with healthcare datasets
• Familiarity with HL7 communication protocols
• Experience with event‑driven and distributed architectures
• Experience with polyglot data storage (relational, columnar, key‑value, graph)
• Strong background in architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
