Job Description
The Scrum Lead is responsible for enabling high performing Agile delivery for one or more Scrum teams while ensuring alignment to enterprise delivery standards. This role focuses on team execution, flow, transparency, and continuous improvement, while supporting project level reporting, SDLC adherence, and delivery governance in partnership with the Project Manager and Product Owner.
The Scrum Lead owns Agile team health and execution and provides visibility into delivery progress, risks, and financial burn. In some cases the Scrum Lead will also be responsible for project management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum & Agile Delivery Leadership
• Serve as Scrum Lead for one or more Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum values, principles, and ceremonies
• Facilitate core Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, story refinement, daily stand ups, sprint reviews, end of sprint reporting and retrospectives
• Coach team members on Agile practices, self organization, and continuous improvement
• Remove impediments and escalate risks or blockers that impact sprint or release commitments
Delivery Execution & SDLC Adherence
• Ensure Agile delivery activities comply with enterprise SDLC standards, including required documentation, controls, and quality gates
• Partner with the Project Manager to align sprint execution with project milestones and governance checkpoints
• Support release readiness activities including definition of done, testing completion, and deployment coordination
• Reinforce consistent Agile execution while operating within a Hybrid delivery model
Status Reporting & Transparency
• Provide regular sprint level and release level status reporting, including progress, risks, dependencies, and velocity trends
• Maintain delivery metrics such as sprint commitments vs. actuals, velocity , and team capacity
• Translate Agile delivery data into clear, consumable updates for project and leadership reporting
• Contribute to RAID inputs related to team level risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies
Financial Awareness & Capacity Management
• Support financial tracking by providing visibility into team capacity, burn, and delivery forecasts
• Partner with the Project Manager to align sprint plans with approved funding, staffing, and capacity assumptions
• Identify delivery risks related to resource constraints, skill gaps, or unplanned work
Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership
• Work closely with Product Owners to support backlog readiness, prioritization, and refinement
• Coordinate with Project Managers to manage cross team dependencies and external integrations
• Act as a servant leader and delivery liaison between the Scrum team and broader program or portfolio structures
Continuous Improvement & Coaching
• Facilitate retrospectives and drive actionable improvements to team performance
• Promote Agile maturity, engineering best practices, and sustainable delivery pace
• Mentor team members and contribute to Agile community practices and standards

Required Skills & Experience
• 7–10+ years of experience in Agile delivery roles, including Scrum Master, Scrum Lead, or Agile Coach
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile or Hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment (preferably fintech or banking)
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile delivery practices, and iterative software development
• Experience providing leadership level status reporting and working with project governance structures
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent)
• Experience supporting enterprise SDLC, governance, or regulated environments
• Experience partnering with Project Managers in large or complex delivery initiatives
• Familiarity with Agile delivery metrics, tooling (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), and reporting
