Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide operational support and maintenance for an enterprise mainframe environment. This role focuses on z/OS system support, network-related system changes, and integration with distributed platforms while ensuring system stability, performance, and availability.
The Mainframe Systems Programmer will collaborate closely with other system programmers and technology teams, support production systems through an on-call rotation, and ensure adherence to internal operational standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day maintenance and operational support for the mainframe environment
• Administer and implement network-related system changes across the mainframe platform
• Monitor system performance, stability, and availability; troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Collaborate with system programmers across z/OS and distributed platforms
• Support integration efforts between the mainframe and other enterprise technologies
• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation supporting production systems
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, controls, and operational best practices
This role is roughly 50-65hr

Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer
• Strong experience supporting z/OS in an enterprise environment
• Experience managing mainframe hardware configurations
• Hands-on experience installing, customizing, and maintaining the mainframe OS and related products
• Experience administering network-related changes in a mainframe environment
• Familiarity with mainframe storage administration
• Experience with NetView automation and monitoring tools
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, and Db2
• Ability to support a part-time schedule with on-call rotation responsibilities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments
• Local to the Cleveland area
