Job Description
An employer in the Dayton, Ohio, area is seeking a TS/SCI Cloud Architect for a contract to hire opportunity. This individual will join a team of three engineers who manage day to day cloud operations and will provide higher level design and implementation expertise across multiple areas, including cloud support. The Cloud Architect will design solutions aligned with IT and data priorities, evaluate existing systems for consolidation and modernization, and guide cloud adoption strategies in partnership with the engineering team. The role also includes overseeing security requirements, leading cloud deployments, evaluating new technologies, and producing documentation and briefings to support mission continuity. Requires a TS/SCI security clearance and sit on site 5 days/week.

Required Skills & Experience
Active TS/SCI Security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years in lieu of relevant experience
6–8 years designing, deploying, and operating AWS cloud architectures, including multi account environments, VPC networking, IAM strategy, and production workloads.
Hands-on experience designing and overseeing Kubernetes-based platforms, including deployment tooling and configuration management.
Experience modernizing applications into containerized or microservices based architectures.
Strong understanding of DoW environments, processes, and common technical infrastructure.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CICD Pipelines (e.g. Gitlab, GitHub, Bitbucket)
Visualization dashboard (Promethius, Kibana, Kuma)
Microsoft Azure Cloud experience
Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Jira)
Bash, Shell scripting
