Job Description

Insight Global's client supports many government agencies and Department of Defense clients by offering customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. They also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW

Junior electrical engineer with experience in electrical power design and/or distribution or other related industrial systems in the support of wind tunnel test facility refurbishment. Working in a team environment, collaborating to meet the project goals and timeline.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS

1. Adhere to all applicable Company, Customer and Industry safety standards and practices.

2. Familiarity with NFPA and IEEE standards as applied to electrical systems desired.

3. Interaction and updates with Integrated Product Team (IPT) mechanical and electrical leads in the development of new electrical distribution and process systems.

4. Interaction with technicians and field personnel in providing technical support.

5. Ability to research and inquire from experienced personnel about the function & characteristics of existing irreplaceable equipment.

6. Under the supervision of Senior staff, develop electrical systems ranging from Substation secondary 4160 voltages to 120-volt distribution.

7. Support the development of design narratives, system drawings, equipment specifications, technical studies, and reports as required.

8. Use planning, analytical and product design software tools such as AutoCAD electrical, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.

9. Provide electrical design inputs in support of project schedules.

10. Create and deliver concise technical status/summary reports to the team.

11. Prepare and present design reviews for internal and external customers.

12. Apply best design practices that drive process improvements.

13. Support the quality checking and revision of the project deliverables.

14. Complete assigned projects on time and on budget.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) Degree from an ABET accredited college or university, or equivalent
- 2-3+ years of experience
- Experience at an industry level in an industrial environment
- Experience with things such as motor control level, switch gear, medium voltage, cabling, transformer yards, power distribution, understand how to power a heater and understand voltage, 3 phase power, transformers, etc.
- Recognition of 4000 volt system (4160, 2400 volts) etc. as well as the cabling and equipment associated with that
- Someone who is inquisitive and eager to learn, a self-starter, and comfortable jumping into a fast-paced environment
- Have used the national electric code – NFPA70
- Any CAD modeling
- Comfortable with M-F onsite in Milan, OH; 7AM-4PM, there can be off shift work or weekend work that would be paid ST but there are no plans for that currently

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Preference for Bachelor's Degree
- Power distribution software (SKM or E-Tap)
- AutoCAD
