Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of complex data center construction projects, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, operating closer to the field and technical scope than a Program Manager. The Project Manager drives schedules, coordinates trades, resolves issues, and ensures work moves forward efficiently in fast-paced, mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in construction, EPC, or manufacturing environments, brings an electrical/mechanical mindset, and is a strong communicator who can lead teams, remove obstacles, and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the daily execution of data center construction projects from mobilization through commissioning and closeout
• Manage and coordinate electrical and mechanical scopes, including power distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and controls
• Drive project schedules, short-interval planning, and milestone completion
• Actively manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring scope alignment, productivity, and quality
• Identify issues early and drive resolution, escalating when necessary while keeping projects moving forward
• Partner with Program Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Owners to align strategy with execution
• Lead project meetings, maintain clear communication, and ensure accountability across all stakeholders
• Track costs, manage change orders, and support forecasting and reporting
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals with a constructability and execution mindset
• Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards are met at all times
• Support testing, commissioning, and turnover of mission-critical systems
What Makes a Successful Project Manager in This Role
• Strong ability to communicate clearly, align teams, and keep momentum
• Comfortable being in the weeds—understanding details while still driving the big picture
• Proactive problem-solver who can make decisions and move work forward
• Organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Respected by field teams, subcontractors, and clients alike
Pay Rate: $55-65/hr
