Job Description
A client in the Cincinnati market is seeking a full time DevOps Engineer to support and enhance our CI/CD processes, automation initiatives, cloud/on prem infrastructure, middleware services, and application development lifecycle. This role is suited for a mid-level engineer with a strong foundation in automation, scripting, and systems engineering. The individual will work closely with software engineering teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to ensure stable, scalable, and automated deployment and operations environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor, maintain, and improve DevOps tooling, environments, and production/application systems
• Provide hands on, rapid-response engineering support (“SWAT team” style) to development teams to resolve deployment, build, and environment issues
• Design, maintain, and optimize multi environment CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices
• Automate deployments, environment provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes using Bash, PowerShell, Puppet, or similar tools
• Develop and maintain scripts to support deployments, infrastructure health checks, and system automation
• Create SQL scripts and automation to support data driven processes
• Assist in setting DevOps standards, best practices, and guidelines for the engineering organization
• Serve as a liaison between development, infrastructure, and operations teams
• Troubleshoot intermediate-level issues across Windows, Linux, middleware, applications, and network layers

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of hands on DevOps or Systems Engineering experience, including:
• Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Windows and Linux server administration knowledge (Focus on Windows)
• Experience supporting and automating HTTP-based services and middleware
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and PowerShell (Python a plus)
• Experience writing SQL queries/scripts for automation or troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and authentication/authorization models
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in Banking or Insurance
• Experience with IBM technologies (WebSphere, etc.)
