Job Description
A large financial organization isa highly skilled Program Delivery/ Release Manager with Technical Product Ownership, for a contract opportunity through the EOY with a potential for extensions. This position must be able to come onsite 4-5x week in their downtown tower.
This individual will serve as the central “quarterback” supporting the Commercial Banking organization and the one of their large complex platforms. This individual will oversee, coordinate, and align several development squads, acting as the primary liaison across engineering, QA, architecture, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings deep release management expertise, strong technical fluency, and the ability to drive alignment and delivery across a complex, multi-team environment.
Program Support & Cross-Team Leadership
• Lead and coordinate across several development squads ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Drive program-level planning, risk identification, mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Provide structure and support for complex initiatives involving both product and platform components.
• Partner with engineering, QA, architecture, and business leaders to ensure clarity and execution of program objectives.
• Use KPIs, OKRs, and performance metrics to support data driven decision-making.
Release Management
• Act as the Release Manager for the platform, ensuring high-quality, timely releases.
• Conduct release readiness activities, oversee validations, coordinate approvals, and sign off on delivery.
• Manage dependencies across squads and ensure alignment with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
• Administer release governance, including scheduling, documentation, change controls, and communication.
• Support post-release activities including monitoring, issue triage, and retrospective improvements.
Technical Product Ownership & Requirements Oversight
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine and maintain the product backlog.
• Write or refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements documentation.
• Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross-team requirement alignment.
• Translate business needs into actionable, technically informed work items.
• Provide oversight to ensure accuracy and feasibility of technical requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of Release Management experience with strong knowledge/ experience:
• Testing frameworks
• CI/CD pipelines and release automation tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
• Cloud Native Operations
• Strong understanding of APIs, system integrations, dependencies, and modern software architecture concepts
• Proven experience leading complex, multi-team programs, ideally involving both product and platform initiatives
• Experience writing detailed user stories and supporting backlog grooming and requirements gathering
• Ability to operate in hybrid Agile environments—Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall.
