Job Description

Day-To-Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for one of our largest clients in Downtown Cleveland. The Platform Engineer will be responsible for configuring, installing, and upgrading hardware and software to maintain the integrity of the company’s technology environment. This includes troubleshooting issues, developing solutions aligned with organizational standards, and supporting the integration of DevOps tools such as API Gateway and Terraform with authentication, caching, and logging services. The role involves collaborating with DevOps and production teams to test new features and support launches, refining templates and scripts for automation, and creating prioritized task lists while managing inter-team dependencies. Additionally, the engineer will identify security threats and recommend compliance measures, review and refine security and resiliency policies, contribute to high-level design documentation, compile data for user requests, and coordinate platform changes and customizations with vendors to ensure smooth operations.

Additional Responsibilities Include:
· Build hardware configurations, software installations, network requirements and upgrades in alignment with business needs and the defined organizational standards
· Assist in troubleshooting issues by following user guides or manuals to improve platforms in alignment with application goals
· Provide support in configuring and integrating DevOps tools (such as API Gateway, Terraform) with other services such as authentication, caching, and logging to support processes as per organizational needs
· Work closely with DevOps engineering and production team to conduct testing on new features and services, and support production launches
· Refine and review templates and scripts to assist in implementing and maintaining automated fulfillment mechanisms to optimize delivery of key platform services
· Create prioritized team task lists and identify dependencies on other teams that work with a platform to ensure smooth operations
· Identify security threats and suggest remedial measures to comply with a strict security compliance
· Review and refine draft security and resiliency policies, standards, and procedures that forms the basis of protecting the infrastructure and ensuring compliance with regulations
· Provide support in producing high-level design documentation by taking responsibility for specific sections and ensuring their accuracy
· Compile data and preliminary research regarding user requests for new/modified systems or problem resolution
· Coordinate platform changes and customizations with vendors, ensuring clear communication of requirements

Salary: $110k-$125k

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6+ years of professional experience in platform engineering and infrastructure components
• Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and log management tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, ELK
• Experience managing and maintaining cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong background in backend operational support (patching, upgrades, etc.) for data platforms and servers
• Ability to work in Tableau for reporting, infrastructure, security, monitoring, and maintenance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with enterprise data tools: Snowflake, MicroStrategy, Informatica, Fivetran, Business Objects
• Knowledge of Windows Server or SQL Server
• DevOps experience
• Familiarity with Security Controls, Security Automation, and Security Audits
