Job Description
Our Transmission & Distribution division is looking for a staff Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing business in the Akron, Columbus, and St. Louis offices. Our Transmission Line Engineers are expected to maintain a high attention to detail, possess working knowledge of Transmission Line design, demonstrate ownership of their work, drive for continual improvement, and collaborate effectively with their team and clients in order to make our clients successful.
Major responsibilities of the Transmission Line Engineer will include:
• Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
• Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
• Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
• Provide field support during construction.
• The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelors in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical)
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
○ (open to people who are ‘set to take it’ as plan B)
• 5+ years of transmission line design experience (someone who can become a lead/senior)
○ Could have been doing design for first 5yrs/& now doing full scope
• Software experience: PLS CADD OR PLS-Pole, Sag10
Must have design experience with 69kv - 500kv
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in HVDC
• Previous construction experience OR experience at an EPC firm
