Job Description

Join a compassionate dental team serving a diverse and underserved patient population, including the LGBTQ and HIV communities. As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care, support patient education, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment. You’ll work alongside dental assistants, dentists, and fellow hygienists in a unique, mission-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver periodontal therapies and dental hygiene services under the supervision of a dentist.
• Perform patient assessments, including medical history review, dental and periodontal charting, and oral cancer screenings.
• Take and develop digital dental radiographs as prescribed.
• Provide direct patient care, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, debridement, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive dental care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
• Assist with or initiate emergency measures for adverse developments during treatment.
• Collaborate with dental team members to enhance clinic efficiency and patient experience.
• Uphold infection control and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and respect for diversity, especially with HIV-positive and LGBTQ patients.
• Participate in community dental health education activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) licensure in Ohio.
• CPR certification (training can be provided upon hire).
• Commitment to preventive dental care and serving underserved populations.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Open to newer graduates.
