Job Description
IG is seeking an experienced Application Engineer with a proven track record of addressing complex engineering challenges quickly and effectively. This is a hands-on role based in the plant, requiring strong technical expertise in CNC processes, machine programming, and part design, combined with leadership responsibilities to guide and mentor others in the engineering team.
Salary range: 85-100k

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in application engineering or CNC programming.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and modifications. They use SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and manage projects effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to deliver solutions under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Process Management:
- Work with off-the-shelf equipment and develop custom fixtures/tooling solutions.
- Optimize CNC machining processes for efficiency and precision.
Machine Programming:
- Adapt and implement programs from sister programs to meet production needs.
- Troubleshoot and refine machine code for optimal performance.
Design & Development:
- Design new parts and components to meet evolving product requirements.
- Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design tasks.
- Perform CAD modifications and edits to existing designs for improvements or customization.
LIFECYCLE responsibilities:
- Design CAD models for new or modified parts.
- Create CAM models based on CAD designs.
- Generate machine code, load programs, and evaluate performance on CNC equipment.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance and optimization of programs and tooling.

- Experience in a tool and die or defense manufacturing environment
- Application Engineering Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes.
