Job Description: Technical and Sales Assistant Manager – Southern India

Position Summary
This role is responsible for driving sales growth and providing technical support for sawing tools and related engineering products across Southern India. The position requires an engineering background and significant experience in tool sales, with a focus on hands-on client engagement and distributor management.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute annual business plans and sales goals with distributors in South India
• Increase sales by appointing and supporting distributors, especially in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu
• Conduct product demonstrations, technical trials, and maintenance support for distributors and end-users.
• Travel extensively (up to 50% of the time), including 15 overnight stays per month, primarily by train or personal car for distances up to 300 km.
• Weekly schedule: 1 week in home office, 1 week traveling, 1 week in home office, 1 week traveling; work Monday–Saturday with weekly off as supply allows.
• Meet with distributors and prospective clients, with meetings often set up by distributors.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, blade failure analysis, and limited repair services for sawing and welding equipment.
• Conduct in-plant seminars and training sessions on product application, maintenance, and performance.
• Gather competitive intelligence, including competitor profiles and market pricing.
• Collaborate with product development teams for field tests and feedback on new products.
• Contribute ideas for new products and recommend opportunities for profitable sales growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, end-users, and internal technical teams.
Compensation & Incentives
• Monthly salary: ₹65,000 – ₹100,000 INR.
• Incentive program based on company growth, paid out quarterly and yearly.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Frequent travel to client sites; no fixed office.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Requires standing, walking, driving, and interacting with clients and distributors.

Required Skills & Experience
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or BE Mechanical/Production)
• 5–6 years of experience in sales of sawing tools, engineering tools, or related products.
• Proven track record in managing sales/distribution networks in Southern India.
• Fluent in English and at least two local languages (e.g., Tamil, Kannada, Hindi).
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High energy, self-starter, and able to work independently without a fixed office.
