Job Description

A large financial organization is seeking a Backend Modernization Engineer IV for a contract role that will sit hybrid onsite in Cincinnati Ohio. We are in search of a Backend Services Developer who excels not only in technical proficiency but also as a proactive problem-solver, critical thinker, and active participant in development as well as architecture. This role is tailored for a dynamic individual who is a seasoned engineer and also has a strong grasp on application architecture who can help drive innovative solutions, engage actively in project planning, and significantly contribute to our implementation processes.

As a member of an agile squad, responsible for implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools and practices. Adheres to practices and standards, set by communities of practice, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. Shares responsibility and accountability for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Doing the right thing for customers and colleagues ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement new features while maintaining overall quality of software
• Contribute to a culture of learning by documenting and sharing technical knowledge as a developer on an agile squad
• Participate in developer communities of practice by following best practices, participating in code reviews, and sharing knowledge
• Remain current on relevant technology trends
• Participate in researching and resolving customer issues
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of experience with Java
5+ years of experience with Spring framework
Experience with building highly scalable APIs, handling KAFKA events
Experience working with event driven architecture
Understanding of Microservices Architectural pattern Event-based architecture and Domain Driven Design
Experience deploying to AWS using terraform

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience building solutions in OpenShift
Splunk and Dynatrace
Experience with PostGreSQL (Postgres)
