We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with open-source systems, with a strong focus on system hardening, automation, and compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining the security, stability, and reliability of our Linux fleet.
Key Responsibilities & Function:
Vulnerability Remediation / Patching:
Administer and maintain Linux systems, primarily Rocky 9 and CentOS 7, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks to automate system configurations, software installations, and other administrative tasks.
Leverage Ansible AWX for the orchestration and management of patching across the entire Linux fleet. This includes scheduling patch cycles, deploying updates, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
Implement and enforce security hardening measures on all Linux endpoints according to industry best practices and internal security standards.
Ensure all systems are in a compliant state by developing and running Ansible playbooks to validate remediation actions and maintain system integrity.
Write and maintain scripts (e.g., in Bash or Python) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application development, network, operations, and security to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud systems.

Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or a similar role, with a strong focus on system automation and security.
Deep expertise in administering and troubleshooting Rocky 9 and CentOS 7.
Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible AWX for large-scale fleet management, configuration management, and patching.
Strong understanding of Linux system hardening techniques and security best practices (e.g., SELinux, firewalls, user management).
Proficiency in Bash scripting; Python experience is a significant plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, LPI) are highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to security best practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing customer needs
