An aerospace company in the Dayton, OH area is seeking a Test Equipment Build Specialist to join their team. This individual will be responsible for fabricating and assembling test equipment, including cable harnesses, breakout boxes, control boxes, and 19 rack assemblies, based on drawings provided by the Test Engineering team. This role requires hands-on work in the build area, with close collaboration with engineers to ensure accurate builds and timely troubleshooting. Responsibilities include:
Work closely with Test Engineers to fabricate and assemble test equipment based on provided drawings.
Troubleshoot/Rework Test Equipment: Diagnose and repair test equipment, including cable harnesses and enclosures
Inspect Test Equipment: Conduct inspections of test equipment before delivery to the end-use customer
Perform hands-on building tasks, ensuring material management around the workstation
Collaborate with design engineers upon completion of builds for final inspection and defect handling

3+ years of experience in fabrication and/or assembly
Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
Experience with basic hand tools (wire strippers, terminal crimpers, screwdrivers, power tools, etc.)
Experience with test equipment such as DMMs and oscilloscopes
Familiarity with aircraft-grade circular connectors and military-grade wire/cabling
IPC 620 and/or JSTD certification
