Job Description

A major client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a Salesforce BSA on a 6 month contract to potential extension/hire. The BSA is a valued member of an agile technology team, they partner with the Product Manager to understand upcoming work based on product backlog and roadmap and break down projects into epics and user stories for Developers and Testers. This BSA collaborates with the agile team to assist with technical design and write user stories that include detailed technical requirements to create or modify an application to meet business objectives. This person also has deep understanding of both the business domain/impacted stakeholder groups, and technical product or application, including upstream/downstream impacts. The BSA may collaborate with other technology teams to align requirements and dependencies for upcoming projects and may investigate incidents or issues to determine the functional cause, query databases, review log files, or inspect JSON/XML messages; create ad hoc reports using application data; or may configure SaaS products or internal applications.



Key Functions:

Write requirements, including epics and user stories, based on Product Manager direction and technical knowledge; including business rules, acceptance criteria, data and infosec requirements, non-functional requirements, accessibility, and integration requirements
Assists in the definition of application designs and functionality, performs configuration, testing, and implementation of applications and updates to existing applications.
Assist with maintaining proper internal controls with respect to the ongoing development and enhancement of the platform by documenting application requirements and enhancements.
Collaborate with Product Manager to understand upcoming work for the product/applications, including business objectives, goals, client requests, user needs, etc.
Collaborate with technical team to understand product/application design, components, integrations, tech debt, etc; understand the technical design of the application, upstream/downstream systems and contracts (payloads and methods), data required and produced by the application and data required to validate a change
Lead story estimation with the technical team, sharing requirements, and answering questions; lead Three Amigo discussions for user stories with Developer and Tester before the work is started
Manage and maintain the product backlog (in Jira or similar tool)
Represent the product/application to others as SME to answer questions and collaborate on projects, including IT leadership, business stakeholders, Product and UX teams, and upstream/downstream technology teams
Create and maintain product/application documentation, such as as-is and to-be process models, system context diagram, production support materials, onboarding, and help guides in Confluence (and other tools)
Backup for the Scrum Master, lead and facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, etc.; regularly observes team practices and processes to suggest improvements

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience Required
3+ years experience as a BSA or Business analyst gathering requirements, creating epics/user stories, etc.
3+ years Experience working in teams that follow agile methodology, Scrum, Kanban, Scrum-Ban Required
Will be leaned on to drive Agile processes when Scrum Master is tied up
3+ years Experience with Jira and Confluence, or similar tool
3+ years Experience creating as-is and to-be process models

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience configuring Salesforce
Will not be configuring right away but down the line they will be responsible
Experience using SQL or SOQL to query databases/Salesforce
Experience with Postman or equivalent tool to review JSON/XML payloads
Experience with ServiceNow for Incident, Change, and Request
