An employer is looking for a Platform Engineer for a contract opportunity in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The client is a bank holding company and they are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join their Financial Crimes IT Agile Squad. This individual will be supporting the clients NICE Actimize platform, and will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing systems infrastructure, supporting application development, and ensuring the smooth operation of processing jobs. This role requires a strong background in both Windows and Linux server environments, application development and support, as well as experience with scripting, monitoring, and vendor management. The Platform Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining and creating any technical documentation that is needed. The team is made up of 5 individuals, and while L1 support is handled, any escalated L2/L3 issues are handled by this team and all individuals are on a rotating on-call schedule, meaning while its not regular, it is possible that this person may have to work an occasional weekend, overnight or holiday.
Providing outstanding IT solutions to drive the success of the Financial Crimes business
Maintain the company platform uptime, performance, stability, and scalability
Design, guide, mentor and challenge system architecture and processing with others
Work with Data Scientists to develop rich value-added features
Work with DBA to optimize data handling
Work with Operations to automate solutions and increase service reliability
Closely monitor all platform related production systems
Define and implement deployment strategies for client-facing and internal tool systems
Continual improvement and fine-tuning of various alerting and monitoring systems

5-7+ years overall experience in application administration and monitoring: experience with application support, maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience supporting a software platform that requires configuration and regular monitoring: caring for customized components before and after changes/patches/upgrades for software platforms
Experience with unit testing and system testing to validate the platform continues to perform as expected
Familiarity with the high level concepts of Financial Crimes, data sourcing and analysis
Linux administration
Linux scripting
IT governance to control changes to software platforms ensures the application is supported within the accepted enterprise guidelines
Experience with vendor relationship management & proactive communication
An affinity for change management processes
Experience in an Agile environment
Experience supporting the NICE Actimize platform, particularly Act1, CDD and CTR
Proven ability to look for opportunities for automation, optimization, etc. (some development background could be helpful with this)
Administration of Red Hat Linux servers and support
Experience with regulatory applications like AML systems, particularly SAS AML
Microsoft Windows Server administration experience
Data movement, data integration, ETL and testing
SQL Query development
