Job Description

Day to Day:

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Data Engineer who will be responsible for managing all database pipelines, databases, datasets used by the AC Power Engineering teams. They will also be responsible for ensuring all business applications the engineering teams utilize meet functional and quality requirements. The role will be a combination of pulling data using SQL/Snowflake and uploading the data into Smartsheet as well as utilizing the companies CPQ configuration tool to pull data on specific products and provide BOMs. The company is also looking to identify a new piece of software to eventually replace Smartsheet. This requires complex problem solving, working with cross-functional teams, and managing a variety of tasks and activities while meeting project goals and schedules.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

Design, build, test, optimize and maintain database pipeline architectures.
Design, build, test, optimize and maintain datasets and databases.
Develop algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information.
Design, build, test, optimize and maintain internal business applications.
Ensure real-time data accuracy and scalability for data being ingested and stored.
Engage with management to understand business objectives.
Engage in SIT and UAT for all relevant business applications.
Design, build, test, optimize and maintain Configured to Order (CTO) spec documentation and BOM Rules for CPQ Configurators.

SALARY: 120K

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

Four Year College degree in Data Analytics or related field
2-5 Years experience within data engineering with proficiencies in data pipelines, business application development, and ETL.
Proficient experience programming in Python (scripting).
Strong experience with SQL
Familiarity with Snowflake or other data lake solutions.
Familiarity with Power BI

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Pluses:
Experience with Oracle (EBS or PLM)
Experience with integration with CRM, ERP, MRP and PLM systems.
Experience with Smartsheet
