Insight Global is looking for a Junior Lab Tech for a permanent role with a leading partner in Sexual Health Testing Solutions. The client is based in the UK and is currently expanding their operations into the US. The candidate will act with health and safety standards in mind, adhere to requirements of confidentiality disclosure agreements and policies. This is a small, team-oriented environment with room for growth within the company. Responsibilities include:
Laboratory
· Sample accessioning
· Decanting neat urine samples into stabilising solution
· Transferring neat swab samples into stabilising solution
· Centrifuging blood samples
· Decanting serum samples into false bottom tubes
· Loading samples and reagents onto analysers
· Disposing the waste material on the Cobas 6800/8000 system
· Disposing of waste material on the Cobas e801 platform
· Performing general laboratory housekeeping
· Reporting any non-conformances or accidents to a member of management
· Operates in conformance with the requirements of the management system and quality manual
· Handling and correct disposal of confidential and hazardous waste streams
· Monitoring and receipt of consumables and reagents
· Performing and recording stock checks
· Logging and reporting problem samples
Packing & Dispatch
· Prepare kit components
· Build individual sexual health self-sampling kits as per SOPs in accordance with set targets wherever possible
· Ensure workstations and warehouse are kept organised and tidy
· Assist with the receipt of deliveries where required
· Complete target sheets accurately
· Ensure traceability of kits and consumables
· Ensure correct stock rotation of kits and consumables
· Label and dispatch individual sexual health self-sampling kits as per SOPs in accordance with set targets
· Prioritise kit dispatch appropriately in accordance with KPIs
· Collate mail sacks to be ready for daily collection

- Experience working within a lab setting, internships/TA work considered
- Degree in Science or equivalent experience
- Team oriented approach and willingess to help where needed
- Strong attention to detail
