Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Laboratory Operations Manager for a permanent role with one of our leading partners in Sexual Health Testing Solutions. The company is based in the UK, and currently expanding their operations into the US. We are looking for a candidate who has a background working within laboratory operations, people leadership, and working in a customer facing setting. Responsibilities include:

* Management of US business operations including the CAP/CLIA accredited laboratory, and kit packing and dispatch operations.

* Oversee the processing of test samples, including specimen handling, analysis, and reporting of results.

* Coordinate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to optimize testing protocols and ensure high-quality service delivery.

* Responsible for driving expansion and continual improvement of operational capabilities.

* Monitor inventory levels of testing materials, reagents, and packaging supplies, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels.

* Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.

* Conduct regular inventory audits to track usage and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

* Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction levels to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience.

* Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations related to testing procedures, results, and shipping logistics.

* Collate, analyse and produce customer operational performance data, to be shared in performance/contract management meetings.

* Utilize data insights to optimize operational processes, improve efficiency, and drive strategic decision-making.

* Collaborate with the COO and departmental managers across the group to develop the operational business model ahead of the market by identifying new business opportunities and service offerings.

* Support Business Development team with operational domain knowledge when engaging with prospective customers and/or when working on US bids and tenders.

* Collaborate with the quality team to implement quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of test results, adhering to CAP/CLIA requirements.

* Develop and manage the budget for the US operations, ensuring financial targets and profitability goals are met.

* Develop and monitor operational KPIs for US business operational performance.

* Regularly report updates to the COO regarding operational performance, progress and governance.

* Foster staff development and growth to help build a strong and high performing work force and company culture.

* Lead on recruitment of operational staff.

* Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure team members are motivated, empowered and aligned with the organisational goals.

* Be an ambassador for the values of the business both internally and externally.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, laboratory science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

* Proven experience in operational management, with specific experience in a CAP/CLIA accredited laboratory setting.

* A hands-on mentality and willingness to work operationally to add as much value as possible, particularly during the early stages.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower a diverse team.

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance and quality assurance.

* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in laboratory testing (e.g., CAP, CLIA, HIPAA).

* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customers.

* Commitment to upholding high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in all aspects of the role.

* Proven ability to execute projects end-to-end, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and driving successful implementation.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Certification in Laboratory Management (e.g., CLMA) highly desirable.
