An employer is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for a contract to hire job opportunity in the Sharonville, OH area. This company is an international manufacturer of custom machined and heat-treated parts and component assemblies for heavy-duty industrial applications. This Engineer will be joining their Heat Treat & Metallurgy Department, and will be responsible for writing heat treated recipes for parts, reduce quality issues out of the furnace, update all electronic systems, and will be doing experiments. As things come up - they will control the process out of the furnace room, and make recommendations (cost, quality, and process improvement). They will rationalize the data coming out of the furnace room and will know what experiments they'll need to try to improve quality, etc.
- Bach degree in chemistry, metallurgy, or material science
-Experience working in Manufacturing
-Experience with cost, quality, &/or process improvement
- Data collection experience
- Communication skills and experience interfacing cross functionally across other teams
- 3+ years of experience working as a metallurgist or metallurgical engineer
- Heat treating
- gearing experience
