Job Description

An employer is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Android Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a remote opportunity. The Android SDET will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the client's Android applications. The SDET will work closely with the development and testing teams, identify and report defects and contribute to the overall improvement of Android application quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for both Android app development and testing, and is dedicated to delivering high-quality software.



Key Responsibilities:



Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand web application functionality and requirements.



Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks for web applications.



Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and report defects.



Work closely with the development team to investigate, debug, and resolve issues.



Identify and prioritize test cases for automation, focusing on critical areas of the application.



Continuously improve and expand test coverage and test scenarios.



Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the codebase.



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless testing process.



Stay up-to-date with web development trends and emerging testing tools and technologies.



Contribute to the development of testing strategies and best practices for web application testing.

Required Skills & Experience

3-5+ years' experience as an Android Software Development Engineer in Test



Strong programming skills in languages such as Java or Kotlin



Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools like Espresso, Appium or Robot



Experience with mobile testing on Android devices and emulators



Knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies and best practices



Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines



Experience in an enterprise environment



Excellent problem solving and debugging skills



Strong communication and collaboration skills



Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

ISTQB or similar software testing certifications
