Job Description
A client is looking for a UX generalist with specific strengths in data visualizations/data storytelling, who is comfortable working with complex data and has experience designing for PowerBI. Additional BI tool experience a plus (i.e. SiSence, Domo, Qlik, etc.) Product is used via a third party, they are trying to get rid of this third party tool by 2025. Right now the client is trying to aggressively migrate content. One tool, on-demand which is on Netezza, Netezza is built on old technologies and if it breaks users will have a hard time accessing information. Goal is to get content from Netezza accessible through Power BI. They have a group of 5 designers, but none have the proper experience with Power BI. What can they do with visualizations? Can they improve parts of the report via visualizations? Looking for a generalist who can do basic UX research, and the design element towards Power BI or SiSence, Domo, or Qlik.
*A big differentiator between this and other UX Designers is the level of PowerBI experience. This person must be able to design for PowerBI. They are not looking for an Engineer, this person should have a design focus.*
* Communicate design needs with your team through appropriate documentation, user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
* Collaborate on a cross-functional team comprised of product, engineering, and design to deliver a unified, quality software experience
* Support the 84.51 Stratum UX team throughout the process of proposing, wireframing, and implementing UX improvements
* Support relationships with business stakeholders and end users to generate empathy for their needs across your team
* Conduct user research with internal and external users
* Make informed product recommendations that balance the needs of users, business, and technology
* Represent the interests of good design and user needs to your team and stakeholders
* Create actionable readouts that succinctly answer research goals
* Create artifacts in collaboration with UX, Product and Engineering peers that solve users' problems
Required Skills & Experience
* 2+ years working as a User Experience Designer or similar role
* Experience in creating solutions utilizing PowerBI and additional BI tools
* Additional BI tool experience a plus (i.e. SiSence, Domo, Qlik, etc.)
* Experience in creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, production assets, and documentation
* Experience in facilitating forms of quantitative and qualitative user research (e.g. usability testing, card sorting, participatory design sessions, etc.)
