Job Description
"We run two Scrum teams. This person would be one of the developers on one of the teams. First thing in the morning we have a standup followed by a design session. The design session is for the developers to get together to collaborate on what projects they're working on. This person would have meetings in the afternoon as well to meet with clients (users) to discuss their requests & Reading business requirements (user stories) to understand what visualizations need created/updated, etc.
This role contributes to efforts within the Department of Operations Research & Analytics (DORA) to advance the organization's use of data and information. Works in tandem with DORA'S personnel and development teams to accurately and efficiently create sustainable business value by transforming raw data into actionable information for the end user. In conjunction with partners in Information Services, collaborates on the creation, deployment, and maintenance of effective data structures, ETL processes, BI infrastructure, data visualization, and analytic tools. Performs duties for data manipulation, transformation, and automation via programming using appropriate languages such as SQL, C#, Python, and R.
Impact of this role/team:
We provide all top executives from C-suite down to Director levels the information that helps them make decisions to run their day-to-day business. We are focused on the Finance & Operations side of things.
Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Operations Research, or related field
* 5+ years' experience in Tableau Development
o In Lieu of degree, 8+ years of progressive development/analytical experience
* Deep understanding of SQL Server with a strong ability to write SQL queries, making reports & developing tables
o Proficient with the Microsoft BI Stack (Visual Studio, SST, SSIS)
* Experience in one of the following languages: C#, Python or R
* Experience in designing data warehouse structures, to include the "Kimball" methodology
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Experience working with a hospital/large healthcare system
* 1+ year experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
* 1+ year experience with one of the following: Kronos, Infor/Lawson, EPSi
* Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Oozie)
