Job Description

A large financial organization is seeking a Java Engineer that can sit remote working EST. This person will be expected to have experience working in an agile scrum environment so they can hit the ground running in this new scrum team. They'll be expected to help to create new API endpoints between internal applications, middle layers and 3rd party API endpoints in an effort to help modernize their payment processing applications.





DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain automation and orchestration software and scripting to integrate with all underlying public and private cloud technologies.

Design, implement and maintain Continuous Integration and Delivery environments.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable automation solutions

Grow knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert for automation, public cloud, or container technologies.

Manage the automation, public cloud, or container technologies.

Maintain effective partnerships with the Build, Operations and Engineering teams to drive service improvement

Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Cloud, Micro services, containers, Open Source community projects/developments)

Assist with problem resolution for cloud management issues.

Create and update operations procedures for daily routine management processes.

Play a key role as an individual contributor on projects of a basic to moderate level of complexity.

Manage Remedy queue of incidents, changes and service requests.

Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements.

Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience with Java programming

4+ years of experience with springboot frameworks creating APIs

3+ years of experience creating restful APIs or microservices

Experience with Java 8 or newer

Experience working with relational databases such as SQL or NoSQL

Experience with Gradle or Ivy

Git/Github as a repository

Unit testing experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

AWS experience

Kafka

Docker

Kubernetes
