Job Description
An established insurance company based in Amelia, OH is looking for a fully remote Pricing Methods Actuary Consultant for a direct hire opportunity. As the Consultant, you will be responsible for leveraging predictive analytic techniques and building predictive models within Property and Casualty rates. You will be practicing actuarial disciplines such as pricing and reserving.
Essential Roles/Functions --
* Utilizing and leveraging predictive analytic techniques
* Building predictive models using past knowledge of R, Emblem, and SAS for P&C rate making
* Developing KPI metrics
* Working hand in hand with the Pricing Methods Actuary Analyst on a daily basis
* Take on a mentor and coaching role with the Analyst
* Implementing new policies, processes, procedures, and documentation
* Working on Excel, Power BI, and SQL for data and coding tasks
* Developing their personal Python functionality and knowledge
* Joining a team of 26 other actuary individuals
Required Skills & Experience
FCAS 10+ years experience in an actuarial capacity in Property and Casualty insurance
5+ years experience within actuarial disciplines (Pricing, reserving, predictive modeling)
Familiarity w R, Emblem, and/or SAS
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial science, mathematics, stats, or similar requiring quantitative analysis
Strong Excel, Power BI, and SQL
At least 6 months of Python experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Membership in American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
Experience working w Catastrophe models
CSPA designation
Predictive analytics
