Job Description
An employer is seeking a remote OT Network Architect for a 12+ month contract possible extensions opportunity. This individual will be a dedicated resource for a large automotive client responsible for network infrastructure discovery, design, implementation, and handoff to operations for network build projects. Also responsible for working and communicating with project managers on project status and timelines.
* Design and implement network security solutions using Palo Alto, Zscaler, and industrial switching devices.
* Build and configure a 3-tiered DMZ based on the Purdue reference model, with Zscaler as a reverse proxy.
* Utilize Firewalls (Palo Alto) to ensure secure traffic flow within the network infrastructure.
* Complete understanding of EIGRP / BGP / OSPF and managing routing in an enterprise environment
Essential Functions:
* 15% - Network Discovery
* 50% - Network Implementation and handover to Operational Support
* 20% - Update/Author Documentation of implemented solutions
* 15% - Work with project managers for tasks/updates related to project activities
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of network engineering experience -- network analysis, management, performance monitoring, planning implementations, building test plans, and cisco design in an enterprise environment
Manufacturing/ Operational Technical industry experience
* Experience with industrial switching devices and their configuration for secure OT traffic flow required
Experience with OT protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3) and OT-specific security standards (e.g., IEC 62443)
Strong proficiency in Palo Alto and Zscaler technologies, including designing, implementing, and troubleshooting solutions
In-depth knowledge of building and managing a 3-tiered DMZ based on the Purdue reference model
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CCNP and CCDP, CISSP, CCIE Written or CCIE, preferred
Preferable expert knowledge of infrastructure cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, MM / SM / OM3 fiber) and corresponding transceivers (SFPs, GBICs, etc.)
