Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support automation and electrical infrastructure projects. This role is focused on electrical system design, standards compliance, and hands-on support during installation and commissioning phases.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience creating and reviewing electrical drawings, applying CSA and other relevant electrical standards, and supporting the installation and commissioning of electrical systems in industrial or manufacturing environments. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, contractors, and operations teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions from design through deployment.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical design, or a related field
Strong experience creating and reviewing electrical drawings and schematics
Proficiency with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar platforms
Solid understanding of CSA standards and other relevant electrical codes and regulatory requirements
Experience supporting installation, commissioning, or start-up of electrical systems
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or automation-focused environments
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting electrical systems in the field
Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in assembly line or manufacturing plant environments
Exposure to working with engineering consulting firms or third-party integrators
Familiarity with control panels, sensors, and industrial electrical components
Experience supporting small-to-mid-sized automation or infrastructure projects
Basic familiarity with PLC systems (no programming required)
