Job Description

We are seeking a self‑driven Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, modification, and installation of mechanical equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role combines hands‑on mechanical design with onsite and field‑based support, working on both new and legacy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and modify mechanical components and systems for production, manufacturing, and assembly line equipment
• Support both new equipment development and updates to legacy machinery
• Create and maintain detailed mechanical drawings and documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Participate in onsite work, including a minimum of two days per week onsite
• Be fully onsite during equipment installation and commissioning phases
• Provide field support as required during troubleshooting, installation, and upgrades
• Quote mechanical components and coordinate the purchase of parts
• Work closely with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure practical, buildable designs
Support hands‑on work on equipment as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Diploma or background as a Mechanical Technologist, Mechanical Designer, or Mechanical Drafter
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical design work experience
• Experience working with production, manufacturing, or assembly line equipment
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
• Willingness and ability to work onsite and in the field as required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility (asset)
• Experience with pneumatic systems (e.g., Numatics or similar)
• AutoCAD Experience
