Job Description

Day to Day:
As a Product Quality Engineer in Morrisville, NC, you will partner with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure the quality of advanced aerospace structures (composites and metallics). You will own quality planning, drive early-stage engineering engagement, and lead products from prototype to high-rate manufacturing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Lead Quality Planning: Manage drawing reviews, process validations (FAI/PPAP), and quality requirements from New Product Introduction (NPI) to rate production.
• Resolve Quality Issues: Champion Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes to eliminate production anomalies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain: Establish inspection and acceptance standards for incoming parts and materials.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop key quality metrics and optimize the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Bridge Design & Manufacturing: Work hands-on with engineering to resolve ambiguities and stabilize the manufacturing process.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Develop and implement quality plans for new products
• Establish manufacturing controls and validation processes
• Conduct RCCAs and resolve quality issues
• Partner with manufacturing engineers and quality inspectors
• Support supplier quality and incoming material acceptance
• Ensure products meet internal and customer requirements
• Drive continuous improvement within the QMS
• Help transition products from development to full-rate production

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves
- Aerospace manufacturing experience (preferred from companies like Boeing, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Lockheed, Northrop, etc.)
- Experience with aircraft structures, composites, or metallic assemblies
- Product quality experience supporting manufacturing environments
- Experience taking products from NPI/development into production (Not solely working on products already in production)
- Strong understanding of AS9100
- Experience with:
• RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
• MRB (Material Review Board)
• FAI (First Article Inspection)
• Quality Planning
- Ability to work independently with minimal training
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or a technical field) plus experience in aerospace engineering, manufacturing, or quality.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Pluses:
• Experience with composite/metallic airframe defects and AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
• Familiarity with quality tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, GD&T) and MIL-standards.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
