Job Description

Day-to-Day:
• Lead a fabrication team of 12–15 hourly operators
• Oversee production involving brake presses, lasers, and metal forming equipment
• Conduct and lead floor trainings and development sessions
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards
• Perform administrative tasks including SAP updates and reporting
• Participate in Gemba walks and operational reviews
• Support team development and succession planning
• Work closely with supervisors to manage daily/weekly production goals
• Help stabilize a newer team and guide senior operators effectively

Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Fabrication Team Lead for a top manufacturing client. This candidate will oversee a fabrication team within a weld shop environment, ensuring smooth operation of metal forming, brake press, and laser equipment processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance floor leadership with administrative responsibilities, including safety oversight, training, and SAP-related tasks. This role requires strong technical expertise in fabrication and a passion for developing team members, particularly within a growing and evolving team structure.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
• 5–10 years of experience in metal fabrication
• 1–3 years of leadership or hands-on lead experience
• Strong background in fabrication equipment (brake presses, laser machines required)
• Experience with CNC machines
• Solid safety knowledge and awareness of fabrication hazards
• Experience working in a weld/fab shop environment
• Proficiency with Excel
• Ability to lead floor trainings and develop team members

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• SAP experience
• Hands-on experience with forming tools, including press brakes (Trumpf preferred), Cincinnati, etc.
• Experience with specific equipment: Trumpf brakes, F230, V130, GEKA, Amada
• Exposure to Gemba or lean manufacturing practices
Experience managing or supporting senior operators
