Insight Global is seeking a Pipe Supports Engineer for a top nuclear energy and power generation client. This candidate will join a highly collaborative piping analysis team focused on advanced reactor design, including small modular reactors. The role involves performing critical safety-related piping and support analyses to ensure compliance with stringent regulatory and code requirements. The engineer will interface across multiple disciplines, support design innovation, and contribute to cutting-edge nuclear projects shaping the future of clean energy. Day-to-Day:
• Analyze and design pipe supports to meet industry and regulatory requirements
• Perform piping and structural analysis for nuclear safety-related systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, civil, reactor, plant design)
• Prepare technical documentation (design basis, ASME reports)
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff
• Interface with subcontractors and oversee external design work
• Support procurement and project execution activities
• Participate in industry forums (ASME meetings, conferences)
• Maintain and improve engineering procedures and analysis tools

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (or related discipline with relevant experience)
• 4+ years of experience in pipe support design and analysis
• Experience with piping analysis in regulated environments (preferably nuclear or similar)
• Working knowledge of ASME Section III (Subsection NF) and/or ASME B31.1
• Experience with piping analysis software (PIPESTRESS, AUTOPIPE, CAESAR, or similar)
• BIM / 3D modeling experience
• Pipe whip restraint design/analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• Nuclear industry experience
• Experience with GT STRUDL, STAAD, ANSYS, LICAD
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and reviewing deliverables
• PE license or EIT certification
• Experience writing scopes of work and technical documentation
• Automation/scripting experience (Python, VBA)
• Mentorship or leadership experience
