Job Description

The Facilities Planner is responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing Sonic facilities and workplace environments to support business objectives, manufacturer objectives/standards, employee experience, guest experience and operational efficiency. This role partners with Facilities teammates, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities IT, Finance, Operations Team, Manufacturer representatives and external architectural and construction teams to develop operational solutions, space plans, occupancy strategies, and facility improvement projects. This role will be focused 70-75% on front-end project planning with core responsibilities including gathering operational data, coordinating and presenting to stakeholders and operations teams, and translating inputs into plans/design outputs. A successful candidate will be energized working in a fast-paced, high volume retail environment, with the ability to adapt, prioritize and multitask as needed. High confidence and strong presentation skills working among executive leadership is required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Planning, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in architectural planning in the following environments/industries: corporate real estate,
• Strong proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and workplace planning software, with practical application of required tools in a professional setting
• Strong understanding of commercial design, workplace strategy, building systems, and construction processes.
• Knowledge of ADA, life safety, and applicable building codes.
• Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills with experience leading executive level meetings and hosting key stakeholders of the organization.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in automotive industry or dealership design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Professional Architecture License (RA) or progress toward licensure.
• NCARB certification.
• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.
• PMP or similar project management certification.
• Experience with IWMS, CAFM, or space management systems.
• Experience supporting multi-site corporate portfolios.
