Job Description
Day-to-Day:
• Spend ~60% of time:
o Loading and evaluating products/units during production
o Partnering with suppliers on materials, quality, and industrialization issues
o Coordinating with production teams on forecasting and planning needs (3–6 months out)
o Anticipating demand and ensuring readiness ahead of production cycles
o Managing finished goods flow and outbound coordination
• Spend ~40% of time:
o Supporting production teams by answering technical questions
o Troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing and process issues
o Collaborating with welders, fabrication teams, and operators
o Driving continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
• Additional responsibilities:
o Analyze and improve workflows to increase throughput and output
o Apply Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban) to eliminate waste and improve efficiency
o Lead design and engineering changes (BOMs, tooling, processes, documentation)
o Conduct time studies and optimize plant/workstation layouts
o Collaborate with R&D to translate product designs into scalable manufacturing processes
o Identify process gaps and implement improvements across production lines
o Interface with suppliers to resolve manufacturing challenges
o Develop and maintain key process documentation

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
• 5–7+ years of manufacturing industry experience
• Hands-on experience with metal fabrication and working with metals
• Experience working with welding processes and fabrication teams
• Exposure to or training on CNC equipment
• Experience with MRP systems (BOMs, routing, master data, production lot sizing)
• Proven application of Lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kanban, Kaizen, etc.)
• Experience creating industrial documentation (SOPs, PFMEA, control plans, process flows)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
• Ability to operate independently and solve complex production issues
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing facility
• Background working in a Canadian welding facility
• Hands-on welding experience or technical mastery
• Experience with heavy equipment or escalator manufacturing environments
• Strong background in plant layout and workstation optimization
• Supplier-side manufacturing or industrialization experience
• Proven success improving throughput, efficiency, and output
• Experience collaborating closely with R&D teams to bring designs into production
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
