Security System Technician Overview
Security System Technicians help keep Smart Buildings safe by installing, programming, and maintaining systems like CCTV/IP cameras, alarms, access control, and security software. You’ll also work directly with customers during setup and training.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, program, and commission security systems
• Conduct system testing, inspections, and support final acceptance
• Run reports and troubleshoot system performance issues
• Train customers on system operation
• Identify code or installation issues and recommend fixes
Coordinate with project teams and contractors as needed

Required Skills & Experience
Basic Qualifications
• 1+ year experience with security system installation or maintenance
• Understanding of networks, servers, and operating systems
• Comfortable working in varied environments (heights, outdoors, mechanical spaces) and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet fleet requirements
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED (Associate degree in electronics preferred)
• 3+ years of related experience
Ability to read construction and design documents
