Job Description
A large financial institution in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support and enhance the UI layer of a Credit Risk platform. This role will work closely with multiple teams across Credit Risk, building and maintaining front-end solutions that enable business users to assess and manage risk effectively. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and able to ramp up quickly in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, enhance, and support UI applications for a Credit Risk platform
• Build responsive, scalable front-end components using React and JavaScript
• Collaborate with backend services built on Node.js and integrate data using SQL
• Partner with cross-functional teams (risk, product, engineering) across Credit Risk
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing applications in a fast-paced environment
• Quickly learn financial systems, data flows, and internal tools to contribute early

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
• ~5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o React
o JavaScript
o Node.js
o SQL
• Experience supporting or building user-facing applications
• Ability to ramp up quickly and work independently in a large enterprise environment
• Willingness and ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Charlotte, NC
• Availability to attend in-person interviews in Charlotte
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• Experience with Hadoop or big data platforms
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, or modern deployment practices
• Prior experience in financial services, risk, or regulated environments
• Familiarity with large-scale, enterprise systems
