Job Description
The Discipline Engineer – Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides specialized technical expertise in power transformer health monitoring, diagnostics, and lifecycle management. This role supports reliability and asset health initiatives by analyzing condition data, identifying degradation trends and failure risks, and recommending proactive mitigation strategies. Working closely with field operations, transformer SMEs, and asset management engineering teams, the Discipline Engineer translates complex diagnostic data into actionable insights to inform maintenance planning, risk reduction, and capital investment decisions. Periodic field support may be required for onsite assessments and technical scoping.

Required Skills & Experience
• Hands-on experience with power transformers through utility, industrial, manufacturing, or testing environments.
• Demonstrated experience in transformer diagnostics and condition assessment.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with large data sets in Excel
•Experience with Doble and/or DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis)
• Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting asset health, reliability, or lifecycle management programs.
• Familiarity with industry-standard transformer testing tools and methodologies.
