Job Description
o Responsible for the full cycle of estimating and analysis, with support and oversight from Sr. Estimator
o Conduct analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided
o Develop cost estimate by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and/or sub-contractors
o Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Senior Chief Estimator and/or Vice President of Preconstruction
o Train and lead Junior Estimators in their growth and learning, including leadership and hands-on experience
o Participate in design-assist project stages
o Must meet critical deadlines and provide accurate information
o Periodically visits jobsites
Skills & Abilities
o Computer proficient with ability to adapt to new innovations and processes
o Experience in Electrical Construction Industry
o Capable of understanding construction documents including drawings, standards, and specifications
o Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills
o Strong math/accounting skills
o Potential management and leadership skills
o Functions effectively as part of a team
o Excellent time management and organizational skills
o Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
o Positive attitude is a must
o Effective and professional communication skills to clients and within the Preconstruction team

Required Skills & Experience
Required Skills –
o Prior experience in estimating or construction engineering/construction management industry is considered a plus.
o Experience in Electrical Construction Industry
o Ability to read plans/specs for select disciplines.
o Proficiency in Excel, Word, BluBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software a plus.
o Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (5+ years’ experience in electrical construction also be considered in lieu of a degree)
